If someone suffers from a Severe Major depressive disorder,or Bipolar disorder or an anxiety disorder does that disqualify you from joining the armed forces like the Army,Navy,Air force?

Are applicants screened before being admitted? Are psychological screenings done?My friend Pookie wants to join but we aren't sure if he would qualify due to this Major depressive disorder..he has been in Therapy for years and On and off Anti depressants?

  1. In a word...yes. The last thing the armed forces wants to do is give someone with such a major disorder a gun and a license to kill.

  2. They'll avoid you like the plague.
