Does sunscreen also protect against darkening skin?

I'm going to Las Vagas in 12 hours..

and I bought sunscreen so I don't get burned,

would this also prevent the sun from darkning my skin?

cause I already have a tan.

Hi am going to florida next week as my skin is sensitive and bcoz of  that i have'nt used any sunscreens before am very much confused what type of sun screen suits me, can u please suggest me the best sun screen which protects my skin from tanning.

and even heard many ppl saying that using of sunscreens skin becomes more dark, is it true???????
