  1. No.

The conical shock wave trails behind the supersonic aircraft.

It doesn't happen only as the aircraft accelerates through mach 1.

The aircraft does not have to be accelerating--it has only to be flying at or greater than mach 1.

  2. No. The boom is caused as speed is accellerated beyond the speed of sound.  Only once.  And it only happens during accelleration.

  3. no -- an aircraft does not make a sonic boom for every whole Mach number they pass... only through the initial sound barrier.

a sonic boom, in itself is actually a misnomer, it should technically be "sonic booms", because all aircraft have two pressure waves that build up at the nose and the tail, creating two sonic booms when those two pressure waves release and reach our ears. but as the planes that go above the speed of sound are so small, and there is not much distance between the two surfaces, we hear it as one sonic boom, not two. the only vehicle in the world that creates "twin" sonic booms (that i know of) is the Space Shuttle as it slows down below the speed of sound on re-entry towards the landing site.

  4. No.  The speed of sound is the speed of sound.

one time only there are no other barriors until the speed of light. Then you go back in time.

  5. no , only when the actual speed of sound is broken.

Nothing dramatic till the speed of light ,and that hasn't been achieved yet.

  6. They do not.  They only make a single sonic boom from the pressure wave that builds up by the sound following them.  They do not build another pressure wave by going faster, it just follows behind them further
