  1. yes, if its connected to the sewer system

  2. It depends upon the locality, type of pool and the permits issued to the local authority by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System office.

Usually, chlorinated water must be discharged into a sanitary sewer system where available. It can not be drained into a storm water system. Some municipalities will not enforce the federal mandates concerning chlorinated water, but it is considered a pollutant.

In most cases, dechlorinated water can be ground discharged in amounts that will not adversely affect surrounding property. It can also be discharged into unregulated streams, storm water systems, used to fortify aquifers, or used to water lawns and gardens.

The above applies to privately owned residential pools. Public or municipal pools fall under different statutes.

Your pool installer should be familiar with local ordinances, and should have installed it accordingly. It won't hurt to call your county health department to ask.

  3. I can't even understand the question

  4. Drain pipe, no. Sewer, yes.

  5. Pools don't usually "drain" as the lowest point is lower than any of you drains.

You need to work that funny valve (3 port) near the pump so it pumps out to the street drain.

    Where are you?

  6. This question really depends on local building codes. You will need to contact your local building office at city hall to find out.

Where I live, I can drain a pool into the yard/ street or where ever.

Where my father lives, it has to go into the sewage system for water treatment.

  7. no
