I swim everyday as it is my sport but I was worried as I recently noticed my hair going white. It has never happened before, it is not in my genes, and I started swimming only recently. Also my hair was permanently straightened when I started... Thanks

  1. most of the time, blonde hair turns green and most other hair colors aren't affected.

  2. where did you hear that, that's ridiculous it can't happen.

  3. It can happen. I see this happen most often in boys that swim. Make sure you wash it really well, at the very least condition your hair after every time you've been in the pool.

  4. Whoa ! i never heard such scary thing, i will be in the sea learning to swim this summer , now u got me a lil worried, 2 friend of mine has been in the sea for more than 3-4 years and they dont got white hair , nor does he have increasement in his white/gray hair ^^

if someone notices more white hair after going to sea it might be cuz of leaving the salt in hair after swimming, maby they should go under thos shower things next to the sea at beach, or just pour some bottled water u know.

  5. i guess.

  6. From my own experiance, yes it can make your hair lighter,I had added lemon juice to mine, that is probably the reason.Hope this helps

  7. no.

  8. It's the chlorine and wrong pH levels in the pool water that turns your hair white.  Wearing a swim cap will help and rinsing and washing your hair right after swimming should keep your hair from turning white.
