Does swimming tone you or help you lose weight?

i gained some weight over the past few months and now i have a bit of flab on my thighs and upper arms

if i swim would it tone me up and make me look bigger or will i lose weight and then tone up?

  2. Yes swimming helps your body tone up and lose weight.  Your using all your muscles when you swim.

  3. Yes. Ive been swimming on a competitive team for 9 years during the summer. I lose up to about 10 pounds when swim season starts. I think swimming and running are the best way to loose the flab. It wont make you bigger...but it will add muscle to upper thighs and tighten your arms and abs. If you want to tighten butt and thighs do breatroke more often. The only thing that may get bigger (after a long period of time) is your shoulders. Im a girl and my shoulders have gotten slightly broad from swimming and all my other friends who do...idk why though haha. good luck :)

  5. both, swimming uses every muscle in your body and burns a whole lot of calories. so you will lose weight but if you only want to do it to bulk up i suggest you try something else it talks a lot of time and constant workout to tone your body.

  6. Swimming is one of the rare sports where you use almost every muscle in your body!!! Yes you will lose weight, but you just cant eat whatever you want, you have to eat healthy. and if you eat healthy swim atleast 2 hours a day you willl lose tons of weight and get  tone!!
