Nortons /Symantec is an antivirus program unless you have (Nortons Internet Security) then it has more to offer, I am not sure about nortons 360 but anyway only your internet service provider or any other provider that make charger to "Call " through your IM. Yahoo IM have these options. So always check to make sure, but I am sure that Nortons does not charge to chat using IM.

No, but the protection for live chat software is a paid extra. BTW did you know that Norton stinks?

Unplug the internet line, uninstall the junk and install these (if

necessary in safe mode) one by one with each necessary reboot done.

Reconnect the line and update them (Spybot has it manual).
