Question:

Does table salt work as an exfoliater?

Someone told me that it did, as long as you mixed it with certain things?

Am I just being really thick, if now what are these illusive "certain things"?

  1. i've heard that salt water in the ocean is a good exfoliater, so i'm guessing that regular table salt helps a little bit. if you just bought one, though, it would also have certain ingredients that fight acne and stuff..so that's cool.

  2. oh, i've heard similar things to that, but on hands, not face (though it might work on face as well...)

you get some olive oil and apply it generously to your hands, as if you are washing them with that squeezy soap. but instead of just washing it off again, leave it for a while (depending on how much in need your hands are of some care) about 5-10 minutes, maybe more, and then you get some Sugar and rub that all over your hands, on the palms, the backs, in between your fingers, even down your nails if theyre dirty. then wait for like a minute, and then rinse your hands under cool water, and don't forget under the nails if you put sugar there.

you should ideally do this before you go to bed, (don't do it just before youre about to go do the gardening/washing up, because that would just be a waste)  and then when you wake up in the morning, your hands will feel silky soft and clean. don't use salt, it will dry our your hands and might be itchy after the treatment.

Good Luck, hope i've helped. x*x

  3. please don't use table salt... it will dry out your skin :(

  4. Fill up your bathroom sink with warm water and put just under a teaspoon of salt in, mix that up and rinse it on your face.

Trust me it worked wonders on my skin I had a really oily T-zone and quite bad pimples on my forehead but now they are basically gone!!!

  5. it dont think it works its a sea salt exfoliator tht works

  6. its better to use sea salt

  7. Never heard that before but bicarbonate soda mixed with water into a paste makes a good exfoliate

  8. If you want a free, all-natural exfoliator, use table sugar, not table salt.  Mix the sugar with a nice facial cream and gently rub it all over your body in the shower and then rinse off.  Table salt is very harsh and will burn and irritate your skin.

  9. oops. i put some links in the wrong spot in my first answer. Sorry!

They do make salt scrubs for the body. they usually have mineral oil in them and glycerin. They wouldn't be okay for your face.

sugar scrubs are available also (for the body.)

here is a link on how to make some at home, for your body.

if you are looking for something to exfoliate your pretty little face you are probably better off buying an actual facial product from target/wal mart/rite aid.

here are some links on how to make your own facial scrubs!
