  1. I don't see why. Those pills work on completely different body systems.

  2. Taking antibiotics CAN interfere with your birth control pills effectiveness... while taking the antibiotic use an additional form of protection .... ask your Dr or druggist . they can help with several suggestions...

  3. Rifampicin is the main antibiotic which adversely affects the pill.

  4. Well its possible- the level of hormones in pills is very small. The pill is metabolised and some of the metabolites are secreted back into your intestine where the bacteria there turn them back into active pill ingredients and they get reabsorbed into your body providing a boost of pill. By taking an antibiotic especially what they call a broad spectrum one like amoxicillin you temporarily kill off these benefitial bacteria in your gut and the boost of recycled pill is gone.Depending on the person and also on how long they are on the pill this may ( more than likely) cause pill failure and you could ovulate ( produce egg)

...so: The general routine is to use other contraceptive measures in addition to the pill ( condoms)  while you are taking the antibiotics and for 7 days thereafter.if the end of the packet is reached you immediately start the next pack...don't observe a pill free/ placebo pill period. The pill is once again effective after you've stopped the antibiotics and have taken 7 active pills...i.e. 7 days
