  1. no because showers dont waste alot off water but baths do so take more showers and less baths

  2. yes, especially if you have a big old school hot water heater.  they make new ones that heat the water as you need it, instead of heating 40 gallons at a time.   then it just sits there and has to be heated over and over again, and when you take a long shower it uses a ton of energy to replenish the 40 gallons and keep it at a certain temp

  3. it sure does.

  4. Depends what you're doing in the shower.  All that energy you're wasting "washing" your privates could be better used pounding nails at a Habitat for Humanity house or something.

  5. Yes especially if using hot water

  6. Does it WASTE energy? No.

  7. yes, try taking a cold shower it uses less energy and ur  more likely to get out asap

  8. Not if you enjoy it.  It uses energy, but it's not a waste if you get something for it.

  9. It certainly uses a lot of energy. Whether this is considered  a "waste" or not is subjective. Best way to save energy and reduce "waste" is simply don't have children.

  10. Yes

  11. It takes 1 calorie to raise 1 gm. of water 1 degree Celsius. A hot shower is probably at about 38 degrees Celsius (one degree warmer than body temp.) 1 g. of water is 1 cubic centimeter. Think of how many cc's of water you use in a shower - just to get yourself adequately wet and rinsed would be at least 5 liters, and this would be a short shower. If your shower consumed 20 liters, this would be 4 times as much water and 4 times as much energy. Do the math yourself and you'll have your answer.

  12. Yes it does.  If you have a long shower it will waste lots of water and it will wait electricity or gas warming it up!  So it will cost you more money.  If you have a shower for long enough it is just like taking a bath.

    Hope this helps!

  13. It is not the length of the shower, but the amount of water you let flow, and the way you heat it.

If your water is being heated by the sun, then yes, it uses a lot of energy, the next user may not have enough for their shower, but if nobody else is impacted, it does not matter.

My practice is to get wet, rub all over with the shower turned off, then rinse, with just a little water. No need to keep the water running while I do the rubbing, no need to run a lot to rinse if the dirt has been dislodged by earlier rubbing.

One half litre of water will wet one all over. One litre will do a good job of rinsing one off.

  14. ofcousre it does you waste gallons of water just to shower you pathetic

  15. I think that is more a case of wasting water ,especially if everyone did this,

unless it is a hot shower than it is energy as well
