  1. I own a tattoo and body piercing shop so I deal with skin all the time.  Any time you subject your skin to sun light or other intense light like sun light, you are turning your skin into rawhide.  It makes it tough to tattoo and you almost have to take a hammer to get a piercing needle through it.  Now these are the extreme cases but it gives you some insight into the bad reasons for not tanning.

If you're breaking out on your face, it could be a degree of sun poisoning or the light toughening your skin to the point that it won't allow it to sweat or discharge the natural oils that keep it soft naturally.

  2. Possible if they're not cleaning the bed after each person uses it. You might want to find a different place...and report them to the Health Department.

  3. It's technically bad for you.  But honestly, I tan a lot and in my opinion it helps clear your skin up.  For one, it dries out your skin and in the process it helps prevent break outs.  Plus, when your tan, blemishes don't show as much (i.e that's why girls where bronzer).  Just make sure you shower right after to prevent your pores from clogging afterwards due to sweat and lotion.

That's definitely not what a doctor would tell you, but hey, it works!

  4. Yes, it affects your skin.  It gives you skin cancer and wrinkles.
