If I buy a vehicle registered in 1973, will it be tax exempt next year. or will it still be pre-1972??

I can't get any answers elsewhere with this!

Thanks

  1. I assume you are talking about the Historic Vehicle VED exemption (VED = Vehicle excise duty or road tax).  The answer to your question is NO.  The exemption date is currently fixed at vehicles built on or before the 31st December 1972.  This will still be same case next year unless there is a change in the regulations.

  2. If you are asking about personal property taxes, I cannot imagine the car having a value on the assessor's books.  If it is an antique, then that is a different matter.   Not sure I am answering the question you are asking.
