  1. No

The flag refereed to as the star spangled banner is currently being restored at the National Museum of American History at Smithsonian Complex in Washington DC.

The flag is often mistaken for the Betsy Rose flag and has a large hole in the middle.  This piece was cut from the flag and buried with a soldier who defended Ft. McHenry.

  2. Patriotism is not alive and well, but it is at least still alive.  It experienced a powerful surge right after 9/11, but apathy has once again taken over.  People don't fly their flags any more.  If you were at a parade on Memorial Day, perhaps you noticed that not many people put their hands over their hearts these days.  People talk while the National Anthem is being played and act like they really don't know the words to the Pledge of Allegiance.  But after saying all of that, after the events of 9/11 flags flew like birds over every house, building and yard.  It was almost surprising to see how much people cared.  I think they still do care, but daily life has gotten in the way of showing our patriotism.
