I know that sometimes you will see sprinkler head with three distances on them(one to the front of the green, another to the pin, and the other to the back of the green. What i am referring to are like the 150 sticks that most golf courses use. 150 to what?

  1. It is to the middle of the green man.  Check the scorecard though sometimes it is different, some courses do it to the front of the green.  The scorecard should clear that up for you though.

  2. In most situations it mean 150 metres to the middle of the green.

    Have a good one...

  3. If the distance is specified on the sprinkler head as you indicated the three readings are to the very front, middle and far back edge of the green. In tournaments there will be a pin sheet given to all contestants indicating the exact pin position stating the number of feet from the front or back and the position from the left or the right side. The combination of the two give the player the exact yardage.

  4. front of the green

  5. Middle of the green.

  6. It depends on the course your playing.  At one course it could mean 150 to the front of the green, at another it could mean to the middle or back.  Most commonly you will find it is to the middle however.

  7. I take it you're not professional so don't worry if it's to the back, center, or front of the green.  Just know that it's to the green and not from the tee-box.

  8. Middle of the Green

  9. On most courses it is measured distance to centre of the green.  The pin position (front/centre/back) can be indicated in a couple of different ways.  Sometimes there's a small red triangular penant on the flag stick.  If the penant is towards the top of the flag the pin is towards the back.  Centre is middle and bottom is front.  Some course will change the colour of the flag so that it indicates pin placement.  Where I usually play, the 150 stick will have a colour coded cap for pin, gold/front, white/middle, black/back.

  10. yardage markers are to the middle of the green with very rare exception

  11. Middle of the green at most courses.

  12. its always 2 the middle of the green...the reason is all they have 2 do is find how far 150 is 2 the center *heck if u can hit it 150 every time into the middle of the green...HIT MY SHOT!! lol*

i know this really odd corse i play where the pole is what ever the 'avrage drive' is...what ever that means xD

  13. Each golf course will be different, but I have noticed that most courses are to the middle of the green.

Just ask a member of staff at the golf course. At my course we have stakes to the middle.

When we have team matches at home other players are always asking if they are to the middle or front.

This proves that each course can be different.

  14. It all depends completely on the course.

It is normaly given on the score cards, it tells you if its metres or yards, front or middle.

  15. most of the time it is measured to the middle of the green. usually it says on the back of the score card where everything is measured to.

  16. usually middle of the green

  17. At most courses it means the middle of the green.   I've seen stakes with yardages posted on them, like 3 yardages for front, middle, and back.
