I recently purchased this driver and it looks to me that it has a closed face on it. I am having problems with hooking my drives now.

  1. Check your alignment and then your grip. That seems to be where the problem lies. If you feel that the club has a closed face, use a neutral or weak grip with your regular swing. See if that solves the problem. Then take a quick lesson from your pro if all else fails.

  2. Big Bertha is in the max game improvement category, so probably it has a fair bit of offset and a closed face.  I would not be surprised if you hit it a mile high too as anything in this category is designed to help average golfers get the ball in the air.

Since you already bought it, why don't you adjust your grip to a more neutral grip.  That'd help with the hook.

  3. it does have a 2 degree closed face . at this loft along with the head size . very very noticable . callaway is notourious for poor grip nplacement . hane yours looked at it to see if it is on straight, 11 degree . wrong shaft flex a hhok could be likely .

  4. It should be slightly open depending on the model, like the 460 is slightly open but it only goes up to 10.5 degrees. If your having problems with your hook, it's more then likely your swing. Just go back to basics and keep that front arm straight. Don't worry your swing will come back just as fast as you lost it.

  5. It should not be closed.
