Does the 2007 Silverado have an amp after the radio?

I want to put in an aftermarket amp followed by aftermarket speakers and want to use all the existing wiring. I want to tap into the speaker outputs from directly behind the radio and tie that into my amps input, but i want to make sure that when i tie back into the existing speaker wiring that im not sending that signal to another amp thats exterior to the radio itself.

So to make a long story short, I want to make sure that the amp is inside the radio and not on the outside. thanks.

  1. the amplifier is outside the radio and  the radio sends a digital signal to the amplifier to adjust the  volume

adding amplifiers to this vehicles is not easy

same problem to most gm trucks 2003 and up

this interface will work for you ,if you have the classic truck

  2. if you have the bose sound system in your truck, then the amp is outside of the radio and will need to be bypassed to add an aftermarket amp to your high's.  the base amp will be in the center console, under the storage compartment.  if you do not have the bose system, then you don not have an external amp and you can like you planned and catch all of your speaker wire connections behind the factory radio.
