  1. Yes.  It's the 158 HP Camry four-cylinder engine.

  2. ya it has a camry engine, who knows why, the old xb engine used to be a smaller engine (1.8) but the camry engine is 2.4, so a little bit more powerful engine, people probably complained that xb was too slow. another car with a camry engine is the scion tc, everything is a camry

  3. yes it does, the earlier version xb's had a different engine. the main reason why toyota decided to put in a camry engine is because they based the xb on the american consumer market, and what the market wanted for the 2009 model was more power. hence, the more powerful 2.4l engine.

the xb shares the same engine as the tc, but the xb's engine makes slightly less hp than the tc's, for some reason. it had to deal with the way toyota decided to tune the engine.

  4. Yes it has the same engine as the Camry. It also has a timing chain instead of a timing belt. That means you won't have to spend around $300 every 60 to 90 thousand miles to replace the timing belt. The timing chain should last the life of the engine.
