  1. The failure rate for the new 60 GB consoles is about 0.012 so far I believe. They are really almost indestructible. I got a new one and towel tricked it until 2RL and did it many times and it still works fine (!!)

Also forgot to mention that the new 60 GB consoles have better hardware than the elite so they virtually don't fail at all. 65nm GPU and CPU, RAM chips on the bottom removed (doubled capacity on the ones on the top) and the heatsinks improved on vastly. Really you have a 99.988 chance of getting a good one.

  2. Don't get a 360 the failure rate is 33.3% so thats like 1 of 3 cosoles will have failure rates. Ps3 is better less failure rate 0.2%.

  3. all xbox 360s have the same failure rate... the newer xbox 360s have a lower failure rates due to the new chips in them

  4. The 60gb has the same failure rate of about 21% The newest Xbox will have the falcon chip in it which is much smaller then the old ones and will reduce the heat made by the system. The falcon will have a 0.5-2% failure rate.

  5. I would say they would be the same or better. The longer the Xbox 360 is out the better the improvements will be. Every change in manufacturing is making the failure rate go down. I don't hear of problems nowhere near what I used to.
