  1. I would think they would as these people do really important work so they should...Look on the computer and maybe they;ll have a web site' if not someone here will know something.  lots of luck ..

  2. Peace Corps in conjunction with certain participating universities have a fellows program which offers scholarship money for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers to apply towards a Graduate Degree.

  3. AmeriCorps does have a program where you receive funds for college. The PeaceCorp, however, is something you do AFTER college -- you do receive a small stipend while serving.

Go to the AmeriCorps web site for more information. Your state probably has a state office you can call.

  4. It has a silent "s" on the end - Peace Corps, just like Corps of Engineers, Marine Corps, A. P. Hill's 1st Corps. It is pronounced "core", though, not "corpse".

If you serve in the Peace Corps, one specific type of student loan will be forgiven in part. They don't give grants for college. 92% of all PCVs have a degree. It is almost always something you do after college. They take one applicant in four.

I don't know enough about Americorps to answer that half of your question.
