Does the Apple iPhone 3G have the ability to play music aloud, without the need for earphones?

I'm undecided on whether to go for an iPhone or a Nokia...I'm open to suggestions on that.

The iPhone does feature a monaural speaker.  It's no replacement for a stereo, but handy if you want to listen to music while not being critical about sound quality.

You can listen to Music without earphones, but the Sound quality isnt very good.

I think that the  apple iphone 3g is a really good phone however since I have bought it i have noticed a few things that i didn't think would bother me but really do. For example the lack of video camera doesn't help and also the main camera can be quite annoying! There is only one camera on the back of the phone so if you need to take a pic of yourself you have to turn the phone completely around and then you can't find the button to press as it is touch screen and has no bump so you can find it! Also there is no flash or other photo options such as black and white or sepia! However apart from that and the fact that the phone is a bit of a beast when it comes to size i do think that it is a very good phone. It is easy to use, has a lot of memory (like a normal ipod) and you can get signal and internet everywhere! I would definately recommend this phone as long as those few things don't bother you! :)

also new technology is always going to be coming out and if you wait for the newest one then you will never get a new phone as they will always be a better one!

There are much better phones out there (e.g Nokia N95, and the upcoming N96) that have better cameras, lets you MMS, can record video etc.

Yep.

As to the complainers, I phone has no MMS, No stereo blue tooth, and no video.

It does has the most function music player, and internet browser.

You can listen to music without earphones, it it a single, small speaker, but you can.

As to your indecision - The iphone gives you an Ipod touch, the app store, and a functional safari browser (no m.internet). The Nokia gives you stereo bluetooth, a mechanical keyboard, mms and video.

the iphone is rubbish i would recommend the Sprint instinct or the LG viewty they are exactly like the iphone except with more features and you dont get ripped off. the iphone is just too over-priced. check them out and good luck! the nokias good too but yeah...

I'm not sure but i have the iphone firmware on my ipod touch and i would not swap my nokia n95 for an ipod.ever. If you have the money do consider the n95.
