Does the Associated Press receive Government monies?

And aren't they supposed to be working for citizens, instead of against them?

  1. They don't receive government money directly, but they benefit from government money indirectly through the special privileges that press organizations receive.


  2. I don't believe they do. I must have missed something. How is the AP working against us? They pretty much stick to straight news with no editorialization, so they are actually one of the more accurate and respectable sources.  

    I didn't know about that. Interesting. The mainstream press, particularly the print media, is circling the wagons against the threat posed by the internet to their position of authority, as well as their pocketbooks.
