No but AOL, Yahoo or windows instant messenger can be downloaded for free to your handheld. No there are no restrictions on what you can view. It has its own instant messenger which is just for iming other blackberry owners, it has the normal stuff voice dialing which you don't have to train. It also plays mp3s which you can use as ring tones for the main one or adding them to specific contacts. Pictures can be also assigned to specific contacts. The full keyboard is nice if you text or e-mail a lot, but the keys are kind of close together that doesn't take to much getting used to. You can send short voice messages like texts which is cool. One thing I highly recommend is that you turn off all the unnecessary things like status light flashes and key beeps, because they eat the battery. The phone use  alot of power so it wouldn't be hard to use up your battery in about a day and a half or so depending on how much you use it. A car charger and or a backup battery would be a smart purchase. I have a 8830 and I love it. Its everything Ive wanted in a phone. Oh and before I forget blue tooth of course.
