Does the BOB Underwater Adventure shore excursion sell-out really early?

I will be sailing with Carnival Cruises on a Mexico cruise in about six weeks. I went online to book the BOB Underwater Adventure shore excursion in Cabo and it's no longer showing as available. Would it sell out this early?

  1. I just called Carnival because I'm trying to sign up for it also in June.  They said that Bob's no longer has a contract with Carnival and to try to call them independently.

  2. I've never seen an excursion fill up six weeks early.  I've seen a couple fill up the week before or while on the ship, but if I were you, I'd send an email to Carnival to find out... and if it somehow did, pick out a second choice, all excursions are fun.

  3. Two possibilities:  When you get on board, ask the excursion desk if there is a "wait-list" for the excursion.  Sometimes people cancel, or sometimes they add more excursions.

You could also try and book this activity on your own.  However, sometimes the vendors will have a contract with the cruiseline not to offer their trips independently.

If you decide to go on your own, you MUST be sure you allow enough time to get back to the ship on time, because the ship will not wait for you if you are late and not on one of their excursions.  I would also suggest that you check the following:  CruiseCritic.com, "Boards", "Ports of Call", then your port.  There you will find feedback from other cruisers who have done all the excursions in the different ports and can give you great tips.

    Enjoy your cruise!!
