Does the Bahamas get cold in the winter?

Hi,

I won a free 3 day/2 night cruise to the Bahamas. My sister and I aren't going to be able to travel until later this year around Oct. So my question is does it get cold there during the winter time? If anyone has been during this time, or at all your answers will be very appreciated!!! THANKS

yes very cold like in the 40's or so ...it was never like that 4 years ago but global warming is causing all these changes..

i know because i live in freeport ,grand bahama.

Well actually i haven't ben there during this time..but trust me when i tell you this...the bahamas is very close to the equator therefore it is one of the closest places to the sun where it can't get farther away from the sun and go into winter...it might not be as hot as july but it should be in the 60s or anything..hope i could help

they get a winter season but that might include wearing a light sweatshirt & pants. i was there in january and there was a 2 day cool & windy period followed by an 80 degree beautiful day.

It Doesn't Go Under 55 Fahrenheit, and that's in december- february, and that's very seldom, normally it's in the 70's and 80's but in the summer, it's around 90-98.

October isn't winter yet. The weather will be great. January and February can have some chilly days. Very close to the USA and if they are in a freeze, so will the Bahamas.

If you believe the World Meteorological Organization, and they should know, the average high temp is in the high 70s for December through March, while the average low is in the low 60s. The chart below gives the breakdown by month.

Seasonal averages for October are between 72-85 (F), 22-30 (C) - however you could get a "cool" night - I recommend that you pack a sweater/light jacket and at least one pair of long pants.
