My mother purchased a return ticket to Australia from London for £899. She was due to fly out in February and return in May to visit relatives. Sadly, 2 weeks before she was due to leave for Australia she suddenly died. I informed the agent, Flights Direct, before she was due to depart of what had happened. I asked about a refund of the ticket costs for her estate. The agent say there is no refund on this type of ticket. They have suggested claiming a refund through insurance if she had any.

My mother believed her Barclay's Additions account covered her. When I asked them they said they only cover holidays of up to 28 days. She did not need holiday cover as such as she was just visiting and staying with relatives. Was she covered for the costs of the flight tickets?
