Question:

Does the Blackberry Pearl for VERIZON come with wifi access and what are the major benefits of owning it?

I own a regular phone with verizon and I'm curious about how verizon may have edited the Blackberry's usability. I've been annoyed in the past with how Verizon tends to disable certain USEFUL features from their phones so you have to spend more to get the same features you would with a different provider.

Is this the case with any of the features in the Blackberry?

Thanks.

  1. I have the Blackberry 8830 or something like that..it's not the pearl, but its from Verizon.

When you buy a Blackberry, it doesn't come with anything. Unless you want to pay per minute for using the internet.

There is a 20 or 30 dollar plan that comes with the Blackberry that inclues the internet.

I LOVE my Blackberry, but it is not a very child-ish phone.

Definately more for business, the packet includes e-mail access as well.

But the e-mail only works if you have a paid for email, not a free account from hotmail or yahoo.

    :)

  2. I have a blackberry with Verizon as well as my regular work phone through verizon.  I have noticed that with my blackberry, I get better signal/coverage with my pearl.

As long as you have the dataplan with Verizon/Blackberry, you have access to EVERY feature of the blackberry.  The use of the browser depends on your signal and where you are, but I am overall content with it.

My SO has ATT and often has his calls dropped and cant get to his browser in the same places where I have fast access.
