It is still the world's tallest tower. It stands at 1,815 ft or 553m

The next tallest is  the Ostankino Tower, Moscow at 1,762 ft or 537m.

As far as being the tallest structure that honour now goes to the Burj Dubai in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is still under constuction and is due to be completed in 2009.

The CN Tower is currently the world's tallest completed freestanding structure on land.
