  1. It does not require light. That is why it is also referred to as the "dark reactions". I don't think that it requires water either.

The Calvin cycle certainly does not require light.  But, it does require water in that the enyzmes that make this cycle work only function in an aqueous milieu.  Light is required for the splitting of water molecules that ultimately provides the energy and electrons (in the forms of ATP and NADPH) that are consumed by the Calvin cycle.  But, if you supply ATP and NADPH to the Calvin cycle "in a test tube" the process works fine in the dark.
