  1. It has animal proteins, like in the nacho cheese chips.

  2. The natural flavorings and enzymes in many of the Doritos varieties sold in the U.S. are pork-derived.

Frito Lay has a list on their website of products *without* pork derivatives and some flavors of Doritos appear on that list.  That wouldn't necessarily mean they were animal-ingredient free, but it's a place to start ruling items out.  There are also lists for casein, milk and lactose, egg, gluten and other ingredients people may be sensitive to (for allergy or other reasons.)

  3. Given the amount of c**p these chips seem to contain, animal products should be the very least of your health worries:

Apparently even the so-called "vegan" / "healthy" promoted version of these chips contain MSG.

    .

  4. YES!!!! notice that on the ingredients list for cheese and cheese flavoring (ie on chips, mac n cheese, etc.) it says "enzymes".  well enzymes either come from the lining of the stomach of a suckling animal such as a calf, or are vegetable derived or microbial (which are both vegetarian).  if you want to be truly vegetarian, cheese isnt safe unless you check on it!!! btw, dominoes pizza uses vegetarian cheese (no animal rennet).

here is a website that will be a huge help should you decide to take into consideration this little known fact about cheese:

also, a lot of trader joes cheese is ok, just read the packaging.

if you want to know more, just google "animal rennet"

  5. I think some flavors have something called beef talow in them.

  6. Check the list of ingredients.
