Does the Coca-Cola of today actually taste the same the as the Coca-Cola from the 1970s? Classic U.S. version?

  1. My grandpa says No!  It's the only thing he drinks & he said it taste better back then!


  2. No. The coca-cola that was being made in the 70's still has sugar in it as it's sweetener. The coca-cola that is being made today uses fructose. Which is a sweetener that is derived from corn. Fructose, other than being cheaper than regular cane sugar is also a non filler. When the human body consumes cane sugar (regular table sugar), it only can consume so much of it before giving you the feeling of being full. When consuming Fructose your body does not have the same reaction. It is in coca-cola's interest to make you be able to drink as much of it as you can, so you can purchase more of it.

    Of course it doesn't compare to the coca-cola that was being made at the turn of the 20th century when it still had cocaine in it.
