Question:

Does the DLR line have sensors on the track so it can detect an obstruction?

As it does not have a driver to stop it if there is an obstruction. Also how do these sensors, which I am fairly sure exist, tell the difference between say a mouse and a human?

  1. Lie on the line and see if it stops!

  2. I dont think there are sensors along the track looking for obstructions. There is more likely to be some hidden CCTV eg on the trains which can look along the track ahead of it, or at stations which are capable of also looking up the lines though. There are also possibly heat sensors along the track which will pick up hot axleboxes -as on the mainline rail system. (These alert headquarters to the problem, as a hot axlebox will lead to worse trouble if not fixed soon).
