Question:

Does the Dickison Memorial Fountain on Highcliff Road, Otago Peninsula, NZ dispense drinking water?

On a recent drive down Highcliff Road, I noticed a trough with running water, built in the 1930s. This would be a far more convenient place for me to get my spring water than having to drive all the way around the bay up to Mount Cargill.

Is that water good to drink, does anyone know?

  1. Ask your mates to drink a glass, then wait a day or so. If they end up with diarrhea, you can pretty much assume the water is not safe to drink. If, however, your mates end up dead; that could mean only one thing - The Department of Conservation has been in the area carrying out aerial 1080 operations.

  2. I only trust in bottled water!!!

    Merci!!!
