Does the Dusseldorf Carnival start every year at exactly 11:11 am?

What is there to see and do there? What time should I get there before its impossible to find a place to stand or sit and watch the parade? What is the parade about?

  1. The whole Carnival season in Germany starts every year on November 11, 11.11 am. This is a tradition.

    Regular Carnival parades is in February/March. They give the in formations for that on TV or in the Newspapers and than people know about it. Everybody is on the streets and celebrate the Carnival.


  2. Carnival begins always November 11 at 11:11. It ends with the parade on Roses Monday. Roses Monday is always 48 days before Easter Sunday. In 2007, for ongoing carnival seson, this will be February 7.
