Does the EU have anything in common with Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe?

I feel that it maybe does, because when Mugabe did not get the response he wanted from his election result, he insisted on holding it again,The EU now want to do the same with Ireland, because their results were not what the EU wanted to hear. What do others think?

  1. Thats democracy at its best, as long as you have the money whatever you say will be heard.

  2. The EU constitution was rejected by Holland and France.  Then they pushed the Lisbon Treaty in its place.  This was rejected by Ireland.  According to the understanding in the EU important decisions have to be made unanimously by all member states in order to be binding.  Now the argument is being pushed that the Irish voters are a minority in the EU.  How arguments change?!!  And how many people in the EU really know what is there in the treaty.  Besides, most of the member states did not have a referendum this time round including the UK.  How democratic is this?

  3. is the EU threatening to kill people in Ireland if they dont vote their way, like Mugabe is in Zimbabwe? I dont think so

  4. i think you can not liken Ireland with ANYTHING that Zimbabwe does ...crikey - what a ridiculous question!!

  5. If you can't tell the difference, no wonder you got the question wrong first time.  Mugabe thinks that his tribe with about half the population should tell the rest of Zimbabwe what to do.  Ireland with about a fortieth of the population thinks it should be allowed to tell the rest of Europe what to do.  If you insist on biting the hand that feeds you, at least read the bloody treaty.

  6. Yes, they Murder as well albeit it's taxes they murder us with instead of maschettes.

  7. To me all these political parties are complete hesheshuisas. Wether its Mugabe, the UN or the EU. They all have their own personal agendas and thats all they want to fulfill. That's what they have in common.

Don't rate me on this - but from what I have seen democracy is just a word. It doesn't exist anywhere not even the UK or USA or France or Italy.

  8. The EU is less democratic than Zimbabwe, we do not get to vote on anything.

  9. Shame on you for such a tacky question!

Mugabe can best be compared to Hitler or Saddam. He is a brutal murdering dictator of the worst sort.

Your question is an insult to all Europeans.

  10. The EU is a fascist state waiting to happen. The initial attitudes are already there: anti-democratic, extensive surveillance in most member states, laws designed to target minorities (muslims). It may happen in the future, but for now, we are not like Mugabe.

If the EU ever did become like Zimbabwe, as Europeans, we would be far more efficient at being a police state than in Zimbabwe.

  11. As an European i hope European Union will press Mugabe so they won't have a genocide and will have in a freeking time democracy.

  12. No! as Ireland is fit to serve its citizens rather Zimbabwe at present is not.

  13. Yes. liuke mugabe the EU likes to poke its nose in where its not wanted, and trying to force a favourable election result.

  14. No, they're not even remotely similar. The EU hasn't murdered, tortured, maimed or raped anyone to get their result. Although I accept that the EU asking for a second verdict was a bit arrogant and patronizing.
