Does the Eurail check your age if you have a youth pass?

When on a train with a pass the conductor will ask for your passport at times, in some countries random checks, other countries they seemed to ask for it every time.

If your age is not right for a youth pass, you will have problems then, a fine and no pass anymore at least.

The people selling the pass should also check but they are not the only one.

You might be able to get away with it if you buy online, most likely not. I believe that you need to submit your passport number.  Also, in europe, they will occasionally want to check your passport as proof that the eurail pass is yours and will check your date of birth against the date of birth on the pass.
