  1. No it hasn't.  Despite assertions from the former CoS of the USAF to the contrary-it's very much an air/air only fighter.  Unless we go back to 2nd generation warfare-it's unlikely to see combat in the foreseeable future.

  2. Not until another nation decides it might as well paint bullseyes on it's planes and let our guys have target practice. It'll be over before the 6 O'Clock news.

  3. The need for this 500Mil a/c still has not been justified. It's a relict of the 80's cold war and is not needed anymore.

  4. As of 07/13/2008.   No

  5. No. The F-22 hasn't achieved a kill in actual combat yet, but it does have dozens in simulated combat excercises which are as realistic as it gets without having to buy new jets and pilots. The F-22 might be used for some patrols and such, but the war in Iraq is over for fighters. It's all air to ground now. You'll have to wait for a new war to see the Raptor do its thing.

  6. There are no opponents to shoot down.  I doubt if the F-22 has been committed to combat yet--it does have a pretty credible air to ground capability.

However, the A-10 is a pretty hard hitter, and it's paid for and has been very effective in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The F-16 has also been effective, as has been the Predator drone.

Right now the F-22 is a very pricey machine.  It will take a while before production has reached a point where the price can come down.

  7. that's classified information.

    who are you?..........

  8. There won't be until Iran or some other country over there decides it wants to lose some of its fighter inventory.
