But anyhow, for the horsepower and to keep the engine from pinging it's recommended to run premium

just its recommend thats what you should use.. only way of knowing what type gets you the best mileage is by trying other brands or types.. not all cars or brands are the same and it depends on what part of the country you live in and how one drives also... what you do is start with the place you like to go every week.. buy a tank of whatever and mark the mileage down or set it.. burn that tank out and then try the next type.. they have and do the same... which one gets you the best miles is the right one.. now go to another brand and do the same and one of them will get you a better mileage knowing which type or brand will be what you want to know be it high octane or regular.. my nissan likes to run on mobil regualr and shell premium and it gets the same mileage out of both but i dont buy high octane but every once in a while.. you use what gets you the best mileage

It's a high performance car (for an econobox). It will probably run on regular, but to achieve the advertised power and fuel economy you will need to use premium.

MY FRIEND PUTS IN 87 GRADE .....RUNS GOOD......THATS WHAT HIS OWNERS MANUEL SAYS...I EVEN RUN 87 GRADE IN MY FULL SIZE TRUCK.......CHECK YOUR OUT YOUR MANUEL....

At a high altitude it will.  So places in Colorado and such will need it.
