  1. Unfortunately, no. The government only pays you the GI bill while you are taking classes. Cathi is using her GI Bill now. When her last semester was over, the GI bill stopped showing up. When she signed up for classes again, she had to get the gi bill started again. Pain in the ***, and as usual, the government is really stingy with paying money they owe you. That's what people get for putting up with the g*y *** navy for 4+ years.

Another thing to remember. If you don't sign up for a full semester, then you don't get the full $1000 dollars a month, you get less. And, the remaining money doesn't get paid to you. So if you only spend 36 months going to college part time, and the GI bill is only giving you $500 a month, then when the monthly payments are up, that is all you get. You will never get the full $38,000 or whatever the total is. What a ripoff huh? So the only way to fully benefit is to go full time the entire time. And the only way to save some of that money is to attend a c**p community college that costs $60 a class.

I tell you, the navy never stops finding ways to rape you. After 5.5 years in the navy, I must have 6 or 7 anuses. What a shame.

  2. No.  You only get paid while you are actually in school, and it depends on the number of credits/units you are enrolled in.  Check out the faq for educational benefits at http://www.va.gov  everything you need to know can be found there, as well as phone numbers of people that you can contact to ask specific questions.

Here's a link that will give you more direct info:  http://www.gibill.va.gov/pamphlets/CH30/...

  3. Yes and no. There are a couple of rules to this, mainly, are you going to continue in the same school for the fall. It is called an interval payment.

    From website:

An interval payment is a payment you receive for the interval or break between two consecutive school terms in an academic year. In most cases, VA will pay you for the break between two semesters, quarters, or summer sessions. Interval payment isn’t payable to individuals who are on active duty.

There are rules, so check out this site:

    https://www.gibill2.va.gov/vba/vba.cfg/p...

and type in "summer break" in the search field. Lots of good info there. Hope this helps!
