Is there anyway to use the intergrated chip without the internet?

Is there a program i can install for navigation that wont cost me?

  1. The GPS on the 8310 doesn't use the internet, it is satellite linked. But it may only be activated by subscribing to the BB data plan which would also enable internet browsing (separately).

    I can't really answer your first two questions with complete certainty, as I have the Curve 8330 and that's a Verizon phone. However, the phone I took straight out of the box had an application on it called Maps. I don't know if you got this too but it does basic navigation. No voiced turns or anything but it's more or less a MapQuest on your BB. However, I use VZNav for $10/month and would only suggest getting the same from your service provider, if offered. There's typically a free trial period too so if you don't love it, you don't need to buy it.
