Does the Hoover Floor Mate really do okay on wood floors?

Yes. My mom bought one and it was at my house more than hers, so I finally found a floor model for 50% off and bought it. I use it every other week. It's SO easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Just make sure you have sealed wood floors. Don't use it if they're not sealed.

get a swifter that what my brother girl uses and she uses some spray to bring up the shine

Yes.  I love it!  I receive one as a  Christmas gift a few years ago.  I kept "borrowing" my mother-in-law's, so she finally just bought me one.  I have wood, linoleum and tile floor and it works great on all of them.  I recommend it to everyone I know.
