Probably only for those involved in law enforcement. I certainly didn't have to for my job, which was a phone rep.

Why wouldn't they?  The government is big on making sure everyone is drug free.  Come to think of it, so are a lot of companies that aren't government related.  So yes, the IRS does drug screening as part of the employment process.
