Does the Jeep Patriot only come with a Manual Transmission?

Question

I was looking into getting a new car and I saw the Jeep Patriot and read the specs on it and fell in love. The only problem is, whenever I search for a car in the area, they are all listed as manual! Does the Jeep Patriot only come with a manual transmission?

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the Jeep Compass? It looks interesting!

nope its just cheaper to get them with the manual tranny i work at a jeep store and all we have are jeep patriots with auto trannys i like them.... the compass is a good car as well i like them too nice and small but still spacious on the inside its a nice car in my opnion id go for the patriot but its all up to you hope this helps

No, the Car is available with a Manual or CVT (continuously variable transmission). Without getting into a complex explanation on what a CVT is, it is essentially a new kind automatic transmission which shifts smoother.  But driving is no different than a normal automatic.

The only cars that are avilable with a manual transmission only are some high performance sports car (ie Lotus Elise, Corvette Z06) since the manual transmission has better performace than a normal automatic and is more fun in a sports car, although many sports cars are moving to a paddle shift system.

no you can get an automatic. You have to remember that you can always order a vehicle. Dealers always want to sell what is on the lot because they are paying insurance on every vehicle that is on the lot. Jeep is very good

The Compass and Patriot have the same drive train and are similar in size etc. Boggles my mind why they would develop 2 new vehicles that are so similar. Guess that's why they are hurting.
