  1. During the State Opening of Parliament on 6 November 2007, the Queen Elizabeth II was accompanied by her husband, The Duke of Edinburgh and her eldest son The Prince Charles of Wales. The Queen sits on the throne, with the Duke of Edinburgh on her left and the Prince of Wales, as heir to the throne, on her right.  In the case if there was a King on the British throne, his Queen Consort will be on his left side, and his heir or heiress to the throne will be on his right.

  2. There is no king of the United Kingdom. After the Queen, Prince Charles is the heir to the throne...then, he would be the king. As long as mum is alive....here, Prince!

  3. Just wanted to add my agreement with Rachelle Cadence. No matter whether the sovereign is a male or female, their consort is on their left.
