  1. Without referring to a Learjet manual, I'd have to say no.

    Simply because most light/corporate jets can't afford the weight. The APU is essentially another jet engine in the back of the aircraft - and for the benefits derived of basically having ground power without a lead - there is a lot of cost in terms of additional weight (and fuel usage).

    APUs are excellent on commercial airliners - especially where passengers spend long ground periods waiting in the cabin and where access to the belly is more difficult. However, in a corporate jet, access to an external power linkage (for a ground power cart) is much easier - and with the nature of the plane's use, it's unlikely people will be spending time waiting in it often.

    So I'd have to say no, it doesnt.

  3. I asked a co-worker who has flown LJ31's and he says that there are a few that do, but it's very rare.  Most operators don't want to accept the weight and loss of space penalties.
