Does the Linksys - Wireless-G Broadband Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch need a modem for internet?

I'm going to college next week and I'm moving into an apartment soon. I need internet so I can do school work. Can this connect to the internet right out of the box?

u need a modem to connect to the internet. u have to connect the modem to the Wireless-G Broadband Router for wireless internet access

You still need a modem and if you are going wireless you better make shore you

you have a secure connection.

The factory default  IP number for Linksys is 192.168.1.1 type this in the address bar at the top of your computer and hit Enter then in password section type in (admin) and you should be let in there you can configure your router.

Yes, you need a modem.  And an internet service provider from whom you buy a connection.
