Does the Los Angeles Police Department have any polices of Officers with Tattoos?

I am looking to apply for the L.A.P.D. I have my right arm tattooed, nothing discriminating. I cant seem to get a straight answer as to weather they have any problems with police officers and tattoos.

Police departments are not very concerned with tattoos anymore. Most officers have tattoos now. Tattoos are very mainstream these days.

When I came on in the early 70's you wouldnt be hired if you had a tattoo showing anywhere, such as below a short sleeved shirt, Departments are cracking down now, and they should, it doesnt look professional, next thing you know will you call the Police for service, some guy shows up with his head shaved and a big zipper tattoed down the middle, I would close the door in his face.  This tattoo craze is going to die out.
