  1. the wedding reception

  2. at the wedding reception

  3. Traditionally the MOH gives a speech at the reception, but some brides/grooms decide not to have speeches so make sure you check with the bride before you start writing yours. :)

  4. At the shower, if you are hosting, you can say a few words to thank everyone for coming and say a short toast.

As far as the wedding goes, I've seen several things. I've seen just the best man, just the maid of honor, both and everyone under the sun. Don't feel obligated to make a speech at the wedding.. talk it over with the bride and groom.

  5. I guess it's up to the Maid of Honor or really what the Bride and Groom want to be done.  I was maid of honor in a wedding and never did but the best man did

  6. I have been the maid of honor before, and I did the speech at the reception, and it was one of the hardest things to do, but it came out alright.  If she wants to make a speech at the shower, that should be her decision.  Usually the bride is the one who makes the speech at the shower, to thank everyone for the gifts and to thank those who have supported her all the way, such as the maid of honor!!  hope this helps.

  7. From my experience the MOH makes a speech or toast at the shower and the best man at the wedding.  But these are not hard and fast rules.  The bride can do introductions and such at the shower and someone besides the MOH do a toast, or she can toast the couple at the wedding too.

  8. It can be both.  You should remember that most bridal showers don't include everyone (men usually don't go unless you're having a modern shower) so I'm sure all your guests would like to hear a speech from the maid of honor at the weddding.  The speech at the shower doesn't have to be too formal - she can just thank everyone for coming, helping out whatever...maybe a couple of sentences about the husband & wife to be.

  9. No. I've been to over 30 weddings and never seen it done.

  10. The wedding but she cana lways thank the guests for attending at the shower as well, but a speech isnt needed.
