Question:

Does the McCain Palin Campaign have a chance?

I'm a conservative and really don't want Barack Hussein Obama to become president. He sounds ok, when he speaks, but his plan doesn't add up. he wants tax less and make the government do more. That sounds great, but I believe that it takes a self serving person who isn't afraid to make empty promises, to even attempt to get to the presidency.

I really just want some hope for the conservative party right now. and I think if McCain goes in now, then it will give Palin the polital background she needs to stop Hilary from being the first woman president for good. If McCain can't fix this country then I think Palin can in 2012 or 2016.

  1. She comes off as a naive ditzy housewife type...no offense ladies...in no way is she even fit to lead This nation if Mccain expires...but she is an oil shill...giving away our precious land to private investors while no real oil exists there...tsk tsk....America is being carved up and eaten by private banks...wake up fools it's getting late. No white Knight exists, stop believing in fairy-tales, oil drilling will not change you, it's a scam to get Alaska in private hands..it's always been about $$$$$ and it is a land and asset grab against our nation.

  2. I don't understand why they question Palin's experience, while at the same time proving that they don't even know what her experience IS...How can they bash someone that they so obviously know nothing, or very little about?

It's extremely easy to get information on the internet, yet people say 'I never heard of her until now'...That doesn't mean that she didn't EXIST until now, and that she has never done anything because they don't know what she's done.

A governor is basically the 'president' of their state...They have the same responsibilities as a president (balancing budgets, raising/lowering taxes, approving or vetoing state bills, etcetera...They even have a 'cabinet'), just on a state level rather than federal...So she already does what a president does, just on a much smaller scale...That's why everyone points out her 'executive experience', which Obama, Biden and McCain (and even Hillary) do not have.

  3. If I knew this. I'd be rich enough to qualify for McCain's $5million dollar loopholes.

  4. It definitely does with me.

I am a Yale-educated woman with a very successful law practice and 3 children.

I would have voted for Hillary.

I'm grateful that McCain, whether is was for straight politics or just plain good sense, chose an intelligent, capable, hard-working woman of character when Obama was not so willing.

I WILL vote for McCain/Palin, not out of stupidity, but out of intelligence. No, I do NOT agree with EVERYTHING they say. But I did NOT agree with EVERYTHING Hillary Clinton said either.

Are the hardcore McCain/Palin-haters willing to tell me that in 1984 when the MAJORITY of women voted for the Republican candidates when Geraldine Ferraro was on the Democratic ticket that those women were exercising good judgment? Was GF so bad? I'd say they did NOT exercise good judgment. But NOW is their chance to make up for that and set up the most incredible opportunity to this country since 1920: Hillary Clinton vs. Sarah Palin 2012.

(Aaaahh, so Hillary supporters can still make her the first female president if they'd like.)

Don't call me STUPID because I decide to support the candidate I feel confident will do more for women than any of the other current alternatives.

Or... perhaps you would rather fight me in court where I promise (with a record of 83 wins vs. 6 losses, all being cases against male attorneys) I'll tear you apart.

    Michelle

  5. I used to be a republican , then I wised up.

I noticed you put in his middle name what is the point of that?

I have known a lot of very nice middle eastern people and find your question to have a hint of racism in it.

Why not put the other political people you mentioned full names too?

The last thing we need is another Bush type in office with the mess he has made .

Bush and company's over spending and neglecting the country's economy  issues has put us in a hole that will take a long time to dig out of..

  6. I am very conservative and also run on logic-----logic told me I had no choice other than to give my support to McCain--despite the fact he is a wee bit liberal to suit my desire for a leader-----when he chose  Sarah Palin it was a solid move to fill in areas where he was lacking----I feel she is a high-quality pick---and is "A diamond-in-the-rough"

She has solid executive experience and has shown to hate wasteful pork-barrel projects and ear-marks-------and--she has shown she will not cave into Big-Oil lobbyists and other special-interest groups.

I strongly feel this fine lady will show to be intelligent and be able to get up to speed and hit the ground running when she wins in '08

and should the need arise be quite able to go to bat in McCain's stead should the need arise.

  7. I think you're whack.

Palin doesn't even come close to having the experience she needs to become president in 4 years. 8, maybe, but highly unlikely if Hilary chooses to stay in the game.

No one even knew who she was before McCain named her his running mate.

And I don't think McCain and Palin have a chance in the world. I am not a supporter of Obama, but he has the celebrity status that he needs to win over America.

Obama's plans don't add up. McCain is just going to dig us in deeper than we already are.

I say bring Clinton back for a third term!!

    If only.

  8. One must remember, if old enough, that we once elected a president who's only experience was being the president of the Screen Actors Guild and a movie star, and he was one of our better presidents.

One must not judge unknown and inexperienced, as not able to do a job.

I believe that if Obama gets in, we are in for the worse four or more years of our lives. The damocrats are and have always been for more taxes, more government and less for the little man. The last good democrat president we have had was Truman, but many will say, Kennedy. Truman was just a farmer when he started in politics. He worked his way up the ladder and became VP, and then pres. because of the death of FDR. In 1948 he took the election by storm and did what he could for the working man. He always had a minute to talk to you, I know this because as a kid, I knew him personally. I sat in his house and talked to him many times.

If McCain/Palin can do half the job he did, they'll be good for the country. I don't believe Obama/Biden care about anything but to line their pockets.

  9. Well it does seems like Barack is unstoppable, but McCain does have a chance.  The more and more people come to know what Barack is really about... the more they realize that they don't want a country run by an unexperienced, flakey, elitist who has no energy solution and fights for more government and less free agency.

By the way.  McCain will probably destroy the Conservative party.  I say vote:

    NONE OF THE ABOVE.

  10. between the debates that Obama will surely choke in (Look at Philadelphia w/ Hillary or the "above my pay grade comment a few wks back) and his true colors and lack of any real plans will come out sealing the election.

Palin will show her stuff as VP making it easy to win in 2012 and 2016.

I have hope and am excited about our countries future with the McCain/ Palin ticket!!

  11. Everyone has a chance. YES

  12. h**l yes finally! someone who isn't all jazzed up about Obama's speeches! Like nobody sees his lies! How can he lower taxes and do all these things!? Oh my gosh he lies so much! It pisses me off. And then a lot of my friends are for Obama. I really want McCain to win

  13. Absolutely...

It will be yet another painfully close election. (in the popular vote)

Every election we've had in the last 30yrs (maybe longer has been close).

Think Reagan trumped Carter in 1980,,, That was in the electoral college. Reagan only got ten percent more of the popular vote.

    http://www.multied.com/elections/1980pop...

How about the overwhelming mandate for change that Carter got running against Watergate Republicans in 1976?  Carter won with less then 2% of the popular vote.

    http://www.multied.com/elections/1976pop...

Nixon's election... A triumph of the silent majority after the Summer of Love... Not! Nixon won by less than 1% of popular vote.

    http://www.multied.com/elections/1968pop...

I predict another painfully close election,, with disturbing low voter turnout.

  14. LOL...

Well pal, ironically it is the bad judgment McCain showed in choosing Palin that makes it impossible for him to win.

Not saying Palin is all that bad, but the move to make her his VP simply was a political blunder.

Don't expect you to understand why.  You have to understand what it takes to win the election....an understanding of the electorate,  before you could accept my opinion.

  15. How could one put all their hopes in an empty dress like Sarah Palin. 3 days ago nobody knew who she was.  Laura Bush would have made a better vice president.

  16. Yes they have a chance because most Americans are foolish when it comes to casting their votes. Americans voted for dubya Bush twice so there is a real chance that most will make the same mistake again with McCain which will please the republican supporters.

I think Obama had a chance until Hillary prolonged the primaries and now the democrats look like a party divided even with her support for Obama!

  17. mccain and palin are obviously going to win...the libs have been promising victories for 8 years now...and it still hasn't happened. i can't wait to hear their conspiracy theories about this years election after they lose.

  18. While Biden and Obama are talkers, McCain and Palin can prove themselves doers.  If Mccain and Palin can pull that off, they have a good shot at winning and at least make people wish they had voted for McCain and Palin when Obama and Biden can no longer vote "present" when times are tough.

  19. Yes.  McCain's campaign thus far has been very well played.  McCain has presented solutions that are feasible.  Hopefully, the general public is intelligent enough to realize that Obama's plans lack a logical basis.

  20. 2012? 2016? This is 2008...and we do NEED CHANGE NOWWWW!!!! I don't understand some people... and what do you mean "EMPTY PROMISES" we HAVE YET TO  GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE! Fact McCain is really old, not that it's a bad thing, but WE ALL LIVE to DIE.....He has picked a woman with virtually no experience AT ALL, and she's got her own MESS in her own state that she needs to get in order before she tries to become a VP for 300+ million people in our great country...This was all a strategic plan, but kind of selfish, he could have at least picked Romney!!!

I don't get it! If he gets sick, or just say is unable to run this country for various reasons because he is getting older, we will have some UNKNOWN woman that was the gov for Alaska, population of 6,500 people FOR PRESIDENT, deciding WHERE to take our nation!!!

Why should we risk it because, SHE "MAY" get it! And have experience in 2012? 2016? Absurd!!! WE NEED A PLAN NOWWWW! and a d**n GOOD ONE!

  21. yea! theres too much against obama and the liberals cant promise anything.
