  1. Absolutely they do. Ever hear of a guy named "Jerry Rice" or "Lyle Alzado", "Howie Long" and "Don Beebe"?

The NFL holds tryouts for all D-1, D-1 subdivision and D-2 schools during the winter. Everyone gets a shot. The NFL scouts think differently than do College coaches when looking at players as they know that there are good players who were not that good in high school and who eventually attended a D-2 school because they couldn't play D-1 after high school until they developed in D-2 and then went on the develop and become fantastic players. The answer is yes......

  2. Depends on how good you are as a DII players, most enter the draft but very few get drafted most end up as free agents. I see all those above answering Jerry Rice, Brian Westbrook both played D-IA ball not D-II ball, Urlacher player D-I ball at New Mexico,  Lyle Alzado went to Yankton College that was closed in 1984 and is now a prison, Don Beebe went to Western Illinois University a D-IA school before transferring to a D-II school Chadron State College. and now you have Flacco who also came from a D-1A school not a D-II school but there are many in the NFl on rosters from D-II schools. Here is a list of a few players from D-II schools on NFL Rosters:

  3. If they are really good... Jerry Rice and Brian Westbrook are two good athletes that come to mind but there are plenty others... but its the same as D1: if your really good you get drafted...simple

  4. Yes they do if the player is really good and pretty much dominates in d2.

  5. I wouldn't say that often, but it's not like d-2 players go unnoticed. Brian urlacher was a d-2 player. If you're a  very good d-2 player, you could go as early as the second round, but don't expect alot of d-2 players to go early in the draft or win a heisman.

  6. for someone more recent there is Joe Flacco
