  1. RedWings and Nips have it right, the HOF owns it and NO the Russians can't buy it. I would assume the Russian league would want it's own identity and would want their own trophy anyways.

  2. Its owned by the Hockey Hall of Fame I believe.  And no, the KHL cant buy it.

  3. The HOF Owns the Cup

    Go Billls

  4. Just wanted to add that everybody and everything has a price. So it is possible that the Cup can be bought by the KHL. Tiny, minute chance, but there's still a chance.

  5. Njet.

Imagine the hangovers if that thing were full of vodka instead of champagne and/or beer

  6. Yes the Hall of Fame owns the CUP.. which means if the league split apart no one gets the rights to the CUP

  7. get real lol

thats the funniest thing ive ever heard starred lol

  8. No I dont think so.

  9. The Stanley Cup recently signed a 100-year extension to be delivered to the champion of the NHL, and the IIHF recently struck down the idea of the Russian Superleague to purchase things under contract, so we're safe...for now.

  10. The Stanley Cup belongs to the NHL, The Russian league is in it own league, meaning it will need to get it's own 'Stanley Cup'.

  11. Technically not, but the board of governors that technically are in charge of it are all NHL Appointees.

So pretty much yes, it does belong to the NHL now.
